Payments Agreement
Version 1.0, last updated 4 November 2026. This explains how DaStrings collects money from your customers on your website, what it costs, when you get paid, and what happens with refunds. Simple English, no tricks.
The short version
- Your customers pay on your website by card, bank transfer or USSD, through Paystack.
- For each payment, Paystack takes its fee and DaStrings keeps 2%. You get the rest.
- The money goes straight to your bank account the next business day. Payments made Friday to Sunday arrive on Monday.
- If a customer must get a refund, it comes out of your next payouts.
- You can switch online payments off any time from your editor.
1. Who this is between
DaStrings (Excel Shogbola, Lagos, Nigeria; "we", "us") and the business that connects its bank account for online payments on its DaStrings website ("you"). When you tap "Yes, connect · I agree to the payments agreement" in your editor, or ask us to connect it for you, you agree to this.
2. How the money moves
- A customer orders or books on your website and pays online (the full amount or the deposit you chose).
- The payment is collected by Paystack, a licensed Nigerian payment company, on the DaStrings Paystack account.
- Paystack splits it automatically: its own fee, our commission, and your share.
- Paystack sends your share to the bank account you connected, normally the next business day (often by about 10am). Friday, Saturday and Sunday payments arrive on Monday. Public holidays can add a day.
- Your first payout starts after we check your bank details on Paystack (usually the same day). Payments still work while we check.
Example for a ₦10,000 payment: about ₦250 Paystack fee, ₦200 DaStrings commission (2%), and about ₦9,550 to you.
3. Fees
- Paystack's fee is paid by you and taken from each payment. For local payments it is about 1.5% + ₦100, never more than ₦2,000 per payment (Paystack sets this and may change it).
- Our commission is 2% of each payment, as a plain percentage with no minimum. Your customers do not pay extra.
- If we ever change our commission, we tell you on WhatsApp at least 30 days before. Special deals agreed in writing stay as agreed.
- Payments outside the website (cash, direct transfer to you, WhatsApp) are yours. We take nothing from them.
4. Your bank account
- The account must be yours or your business's, in Nigeria. We show you the account name before connecting it.
- If the bank account is changed, we check it again before payouts continue. We tell you when that happens, so if you did not change it, call us immediately.
- We will never ask for your bank PIN, password, OTP or card details.
5. What you promise
- You sell real, legal goods and services at the prices on your website, and you deliver what customers pay for.
- You do not use online payments for anything Paystack or Nigerian law does not allow.
- You keep your editor link and PIN private. Anything done with them is treated as done by you.
6. Refunds
- If an order is cancelled, not delivered, or you agree to give money back, tell us on WhatsApp with the order code (like MP-4821).
- We refund the customer through Paystack. The refunded amount is taken from your next payouts, or you send it to us if there are none coming. Paystack usually does not return its fee on refunds.
- For a deposit, you decide with your customer whether it can be refunded, and tell them before they pay.
7. Disputes (chargebacks)
Sometimes a customer tells their bank a payment was wrong. Paystack then asks for proof. If that happens, we message you and you send proof (for example: delivery photo, WhatsApp chat, receipt) within 2 days. If the dispute is lost, the amount is taken from your next payouts, or you send it to us.
8. When payouts can be paused
Paystack or we may pause your payouts while we check things if: your bank details changed, there are many complaints or disputes, something looks like fraud, or Paystack asks us to. We will tell you why and work to fix it quickly. Money that is yours is never kept by us.
9. Your own Paystack account
If you already have your own Paystack account, we can set your website to use it instead. Then the money goes into your Paystack, we take no commission, and refunds and disputes are handled by you. Ask us on WhatsApp.
10. Records and help
Every online payment shows on your orders with a green "Paid online" label. Ask us any time for a list of your payments and payouts. If a payout is more than 2 business days late, tell us and we will follow it up with Paystack.
11. Stopping
You can switch online payments off any time in your editor, and we can switch them off with notice. Payments already made are still paid out to you, and any refunds or disputes from before still apply. We are not responsible for delays caused by Paystack, banks or networks, but we will always help you sort them out.
12. Your customers' details
Customer names, phone numbers and order details are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Card details are entered on Paystack's secure page; we never see or store them.
