Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 October 2026. In short: we only collect what we need to build and run your website, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who we are

DaStrings is a small web design studio run by Excel Shogbola in Lagos, Nigeria. We make websites for small businesses at dastrings.name.ng. Contact: excel@dastrings.name.ng.

What we collect

When you make a free preview website: your business name, type of business, area or city, WhatsApp number, and anything else you choose to type in (such as prices, opening hours or social links).
If you become a client: your email address, photos and text you add to your website, your web address (domain), and payment confirmations.
How you found us: the name of the ad or link that brought you (for example "instagram"). This is kept in your browser only for your visit and saved with your request.
Messages: emails and WhatsApp messages you send us.
On our clients' websites: when a customer places an order or booking, the details they enter (such as name, phone and what they ordered) are sent to that business's WhatsApp and shown on the business's private page. The business is responsible for how it uses those details.

How we use it

To build, show and host your website, and connect your own web address.
To reply to you and send you things you asked for (like your preview link or prices).
To see which ads work, so we spend less on the ones that don't.
To keep the service safe (for example stopping spam and break-in attempts) and to fix errors.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for anyone else's advertising.

Who helps us run the service

Your information is stored and processed by trusted providers, only to run DaStrings: Vercel (website hosting), Neon (database), Cloudflare (photos and files), Resend and Google (email), Meta (WhatsApp messages) and Sentry (error reports, with personal details removed). Some of these providers keep data outside Nigeria; they protect it under their own security and privacy terms.

Cookies

Our public pages do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use a login cookie only for our own studio dashboard and for business owners' private pages, so they stay signed in.

How long we keep it

Free previews are taken offline after their preview period. We keep the request details so we can follow up, unless you ask us to delete them. Client information is kept while your website is with us, and backups are deleted after 14 days.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (and similar laws where you live) you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email excel@dastrings.name.ng or message us on WhatsApp and we will do it within 7 days.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
